Lucky Dog Rescue!

Mission Statement: Lucky Dog Rescue is dedicated to saving unwanted dogs and finding them forever homes. Passionate about the prevention of cruelty to animals, we want to be a leader within the Colorado Springs community and educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets, while advocating for animals that have no voice, by offering training and other resources as alternatives to re-homing.

As of July 13th, 2010 we officially incorporated with the State of Colorado and so LUCKY DOG RESCUE! is official! We are currently in the process of applying for 501(c)3 status with the IRS. As such your donations will be tax-deductible as soon as the application is filed with the IRS.

********** The "Food for Furries" Benefit was a great success! Rufus found his forever home and $1103.50 were raised to feed the rescue dogs in our care! Thank you to all the volunteers and all our great donors! ------ We will be participating at"Pooches in Pink" next Saturday 9/11 from 3-5pm Many of our Rescue dogs will be there! **********

Sydney - Female - Labrador Retriever / Cattle Dog - 17 months "I am a very obedient young girl. I love to play fetch and I have a high energy level. I would do best as an only dog, or with a male dog for company because I can be a little bossy with other girls. I like kids and I am housebroken and can be trusted in the house alone!"
Tip - It's a BOY! - Tip is 12 weeks old. Mom is a long haired chihuahua - Dad was a handsome stranger (but we see Spaniel!)
Rocky - Beagle - 2 years - "I come from a broken home. It wasn't my fault that my 'parents' got divorced, but Mom couldn't keep me because the new house doesn't allow dogs. What kind of a stupid rule is that? Can you blame me I'm a little shy at first? But once I get to know you I have nothing but love to give."

Hullabaloo - Male - Border Collie / Saint Bernard - 12 months- Hello, I am a nice young boy but I am very shy. I need socialization with people so that I can learn to trust. I am a big boy and I am probably not full grown yet, so if you are looking for a big dog with a bigger heart, please consider me. I am housebroken and very quiet. I would do best in a home with no cats

Ceasar - Male - Mastiff - brindle - 9 months

I am a 9 months young Mastiff boy. I am very intelligent, in fact at a very young age I graduated from Puppy Kindergarten and now I go to obedience training four nights a week. I am a fast learner, especially if you have a ball in your hand, I'll do ANYTHING for a tennis ball. I am a sweet boy looking for someone to take me home. Are you that person??

Nick - Male - Min Pin - Nick is a sweet and outgoing boy. He loves to go for long walks and to crawl under the covers to sleep. He has a knack for finding ways out of the fence, so he can't be left alone in the yard. He loves to go for car rides and chewing on stuffed kongs. Nick has barrier frustration and does not like being in a crate and will bolt out the door when it is opened. He needs an active owner who will continue with his training and has time and patience to help him learn to respect boundaries.
Koda- Male - Alaskan Malamute - 2 years Hi! If you are familiar with Malamutes, you will love me. I have an awesome personality, but I take a few days to warm up because I was a backyard dog for most of my life up until recently. I have a genetic condition called coat funk, that I will have for the rest of my life. I was bald when I first came to 9-Lives, but my hair is slowly growing back. I will never have a beautiful coat, but I am a sweet and fun dog to have around. I am housebroken, crate trained, and I love to play with other dogs.
Ace - male - Husky/Bulldog Mix - 4 months old - I am a silly pup with lots of love to give. I am a little shy at first but I warm up fast. I am good with other dogs once I get to know them and I don't mind cats. I love kids and would do great in an active home. The folks with Lucky Dog Rescue figure that I am going to be a big boy, so keep that in mind if you consider adopting me!
Rex - male - Husky/Bulldog Mix - 4 months old - Ace's brother - I am a big boy and I plan on getting even bigger when I grow up. I have an outgoing personality and I will need an active owner who has time for training, so I don't grow up to be a bully. I am fine with other dogs once I get to know them and I am good with kitties too. I love kids and would be a great addition for a busy young family.
Buddy - male - German Shepherd - 5 years old - Like most shepherds, I am a sensitive guy. I get easily attached and I am very protective of my family. I love to go to the dog park at Bear Creek and play in the water. My favorite game is fetch and I am very obedient. I love kids and I get along fine with all other animals. Please research my breed before you consider adopting me to ensure that you know what I am all about.
Boogie - Male - American Bulldog - 16 months - I am a nice boy but I need someone who has experience with bully breeds. I will not make an easy "first time" pet. I am housebroken and crate trained. I am very obedient and a fast learner. I don't get along well with little dogs or cats, but I love kids and I am very gentle with them. I love to play tug and fetch and I need an active owner because I have a lot of energy. I am very protective of those that I love, so I am working on meeting lots of strangers right now.
Chloe - Female - Aussie/Rottie Mix - 2 years - "I am a very smart little girl, curious, active and loving! But I might do better in a home with no other dogs, as I like to be the boss!"
Shiloh - Male - Dachshund - 1 year - “Hey - don’t judge a dog by it’s little legs! I’m a great runner! Put me together with other dogs and people and I will show you how much fun, but also how friendly and sweet I can be!”
Duke - Male - Basset - 9 months - “I’m barely 9 months old, but I’m already crate trained and I know not to - you know - GO in the house! I’m a little shy when I get scared, but I’m nevertheless very friendly and love other dogs, cats and kids!”
Cookie - Female - Terrier Mix - 1-2 years - “I’m a friendly, very active energetic little Terrier. Go figure, right? But seriously, I love other dogs and people.”
Trixie - Female - Sheltie/Pomeranian Mix - 5 years - “I’m a very happy go lucky, friendly girl who loves kids. However, I want to eat by myself - I don’t like other dogs stealing my food!”
Kahlua - Aw,I'm so happy you're reading my bio. I'm a 3 year old Lab mix girl. I'm on the dainty side, being smaller than most of my retriever buddies. I'm a little shy at first with new people, new situations, even new dogs. Just be a little patient with me and I'll make you proud! I love other dogs and I love cats, too.I really do not like to brag but I'm very smart. I know a whole bunch of commands and would love to perform them for you. I'd really like to learn more, too. I'm housetrained and crate trained and pretty much a wonderful dog. Please contact RROC at this link if you are interested in adopting Kahlua.
Cody - male - Golden Mix - 6 years - Cody (Kip) is currently fostered at Lucky Dog Rescue for Retriever Rescue of Colorado. Here is what he says: "I am a 6 yr old golden mix who needs to trim a few pounds off. I am good with kids and am going to daycare and doing well with the dogs there! I would probably do best in a home with older kids or no kids as I am timid in new situations at first. Please ask about me!" Please contact RROC at this link if you are interested in adopting Cody.
