What is Agility?

Agility is a team sport and is the ultimate game for you and your dog!

Agility is great exercise for both you and your dog, a confidence builder for a shy or timid dog, and an energy outlet for the highly active dog!

Agility is a great way to build and strengthen the bond between you and your dog!

At Lucky Dog, our emphasis in agility training is through positive motivation and team work. Dogs of all shapes and sizes do agility from mixed breeds to pure breeds,Chihuahuas to Great Danes, any healthy, friendly dog can do agility. We start every team with positive training to work towards their individual goal. Whether you and your canine friend are just having a good time together, or working towards future competitions, Lucky Dog has an agility program to suit you and your dog!

Our aluminum agility equipment is brand new! Indoors we have matting (see Humane Manufacturing), it is 3/4 inch, slip resistant and antibacterial! Outside have a specially built agility arena.

Dogs and handlers learn basic skills, "flat work" needed for success in agility obstacles. Learn to keep your dog focused around other dogs, with emphasis on attention, control and obedience skills that are geared for agility. This class is required to enroll in any of the "Agility Obstacle" classes!

AGILITY OBSTACLES l - 6 week course - $110

Indoor class, discount for second dog from same family applies.

In this class you and your dog will be introduced to some of the agility obstacles at a low level, with emphasis on safe, confident and correct performance.  Some short sequences will be done with the obstacles being introduced.  "Agililty Foundations" is a pre-requisite for this class.

AGILITY OBSTACLES ll - 6 week course - $110

Indoor class, discount for second dog from same family applies.

In this class you and your dog will continue to work on the obstacles introduced in Agility Obstacles l, and will be introduced to the balance of all the agility obstacles.  Some sequencing with obstacles will be introduced. "Agility Obstacles l" is a pre-requisite for this class.

AGILITY HANDLING l - 6 week course - $110

Indoor and outdoor class, discount for second dog from same family applies.

This class is for teams that have completed basic training on all agility obstacles. In this class you will continue to perfect your performance on the agility obstacles and start learning basic handling maneuvers. We will stress effective communication from the handler and the development of focus and responsiveness in the dog. The goal of this class is to prepare the dog and handler for the "Agility Handling ll" class.

AGILITY HANDLING ll - (Ongoing Class)

Indoor and outdoor class, discount for second dog from same family applies.

This class will focus on handling skills and sequences. Sequences will be broken down to work different handling skills. This class is a continuing class, students can take this class on an ongoing basis.

AGILITY RUN-THROUGHS - (BY ARRANGEMENT WITH MELDONA)

Outdoor Fenced Agility area. This class is for teams that have completed "Agility Foundations" through "Agility Handling ll".  This class will offer full sequences set up in the fenced outdoor agility area.
